Cambodian boy, Uorn Sambath, has made an unlikely friend with a python snake. The python, named Chomreun, is 16 feet long and weighs over 220 pounds. The snake, named Chamroeun, means “progress” crawled into their lives as a baby snake seven years ago, when Uorn was only three months old. Sambath used to sleep together with the snake in his cradle, and learned to crawl with him.

Sambath’s mother believes she brings good luck to the family and is not worried about her son’s attachment with the reptile. The family’swith the snake has made them famous and visitors from nearby towns flock to see the boy play with his pet! The python only eats chicken, about 22 pounds per week, which has become quite a financial strain to the family.
